DAARTT is building eleven schools in Faryab Province with funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The schools will provide proper education facilities for 5,337 pupils (3,342 girls and 1,995 boys) who are currently receiving education in open space, tents or unsuitable buildings.
The schools will be built in one or two stories with twelve, eight and six classrooms – in Maymaneh and Pashtoon Kot district.
In addition, capacity of the Provincial Education Department for management and administration of schools will be improved.
Dormitory for female students
A dormitory building for female students attached to Faryab Institute for Higher Education is being built by DAARTT in Maymaneh city with support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The building is being constructed on the premises of a dormitory complex built by DAARTT in 2015 – to accommodate an increasing number of female students from outside Maymaneh. It can host 152 women.
