DAARTT has developed its own designs with emphasis on quality as well as cost-effectiveness, as much as possible based on use of locally available material and labour.

When required, however, DAARTT also uses government or other designs. DAARTT ensures that plans and designs are gender sensitive, meet the needs of disabled persons and include measures to reduce the risk of natural disasters, in particular from earthquake, flooding and landslide.

All construction projects have a one-year warranty. Expected durability exceeds 100 years. All buildings so far constructed by DAARTT are still functioning.
