School construction

In support of capacity building for school construction, DAARTT has made a comprehensive review of needs in respect of Ministry of Education (MOE) capacity for planning, design, contract management and monitoring and evaluation of school construction projects.

This was done in a consultative process where DAARTT supported MOE in identifying 31 main recommendations for capacity improvement, which were welcomed and adopted by MOE.

Whereas some of the recommendations could be implemented by MOE itself, most would require further external assistance. DAARTT therefore also presented the reports to the donor group involved in supporting the education sector, raising awareness of the capacity building needs.
