Kohi Khanna Girls High School
There are 1.307 girls in the school, excluding long term absentees. This translates into 35 classes. Education takes place in two shifts – in a 10 classroom school provided by DAART in 2014 and in dilapidated wooden barracks and an old building. The latter do not comply with safety and education standards and have been slated for demolition by the authorities.
Being in a safe area in the centre of Maymaneh, many parents want to send their girls to school there, but due to shortage of space, the school cannot enroll any more students.
DAARTT is constructing a 16 classroom school on the premises.
